The Editors’ Forum of Namibia (EFN) has announced that its 2025 Journalism Awards have been postponed to May 2026, marking a significant shift from the event’s traditional November schedule.

According to a statement released by the EFN, the decision was made to align the prestigious awards ceremony with World Press Freedom Day, which is commemorated globally on 3 May each year.

The EFN said hosting the event alongside activities marking this international day would “add greater significance and visibility to the celebration of journalistic excellence in Namibia.”

“The EFN remains committed to upholding journalistic integrity, excellence, and innovation, and looks forward to celebrating Namibia’s best journalism during May 2026,” the statement read.

Further details on the call for entries, judging timelines, and the ceremony itself will be announced in due course, the organisation added.
