400 Rundu residents rely on dirty pond water
Residents of Ngwangwa, near the Hilka Park residential area in Rundu, say they are forced to rely on dirty pond water, with around 400 people using the contaminated source each day.
Matunga Festus, a local resident, said the water is infested with insects and has caused diarrhoea and other health problems. He added that, despite the settlement being within urban boundaries, residents continue to live in poor conditions, while some rural communities have access to clean water.
Festus criticised town councillors for visiting the area only during election periods and failing to address the water crisis, calling for urgent intervention.
