LPM proud of its achievements - Swartbooi
News in short
Landless People's Movement leader Bernadus Swartbooi said on Saturday that the party, which has become the "most reliable" opposition party, was formed on the basis of several injustices in the country.
He said this during the inauguration of 10 new political action committee members over the weekend.
"A few years ago we were in the dust; now we are a standing, living, transformative, very present organism in the political landscape in Namibia.
"As we look to the future, we must constantly remind ourselves about why we created this organ. We should always remind ourselves of where we come from.
"It is important to recognise that injustices around land, but generally injustices around the poor governance of the country, were part of the core beliefs and values that brought us together," Swartbooi said.
Among the new members was the newly elected //Karas regional councillor for the Keetmanshoop rural constituency, Willem Labuschagne.
Swartbooi further said the party takes pride in the milestones it has been able to reach in a short while.
"We rededicate ourselves to the principle of discipline in the execution of our historic tasks as leaders; without discipline and consistency, whatever we have tasked ourselves to do according to the mandate of those who voted us into power will not be achieved," he said.
