Coastal law enforcers ready for festive season
News in short
Thousands of motorists and public transport operators are expected to hit the road this festive season, and law enforcers across the country are bracing for a busy period.
"We expect a lot of people to come to the coast this year," Walvis Bay acting traffic chief Clifton Jacobs said.
"Our roadblocks are set to commence on 15 December. Apart from the fixed roadblocks, we will also have roadblocks around town where we will do roadworthiness checks as well as random alcohol tests," he said.
"Be patient, drive carefully, stick to the speed limit, make sure that your vehicle is in a road-worthy condition and avoid driving while under the influence of alcohol," Jacobs urged.
