Annual Ace: Bigger swings, greater impact

Annemarie du Toit

The fairways of the Windhoek Golf and Country Club are set to come alive once more today as the Annual Ace tees off for another electrifying edition – bigger, bolder and brimming with high-stakes drama.

What has rapidly become one of Namibia’s standout sporting fixtures returns with its signature mix of competitive team play and eye-catching hole-in-one prizes. With serious rewards on the line and corporate heavyweights backing the action, the tournament continues to draw top golfers and enthusiastic supporters in equal measure.

Power Line Africa steps up again as Legacy Ace Partner, while Castle Lite, XCO and Synergi Marketing fuel the thrill as official Hole-in-One Partners.

They are joined by supporting partners DZ Golf, Bartsch Architecton, Miko Coffee, Mututo Decor, Network Media Hub, Synergi Group and Pupkewitz Motors, a collective force driving the event to new heights year after year.

But the Annual Ace is about far more than perfect swings and leaderboard glory. Every team entry directly supports the African Child Development Trust (ACDT) and its nationwide education initiative, dedicated to placing quality, curriculum-aligned learning materials into the hands of young Namibian learners.

ACDT executive director Sharnay Botha says anticipation is high ahead of the second edition.

“We are extremely excited for the Annual Ace happening on Friday. This is our second year hosting the event, and this year we are going even bigger,” she said.

Growing momentum

Players can look forward to enhanced hole-in-one prizes and even greater rewards for top-performing teams, as organisers set their sights on surpassing last year’s impact.

“Last year, we raised enough money to educate 1 855 children for a full year. This year, we are aiming to exceed that number,” Botha said.

Team entries have officially sold out, a clear sign of the tournament’s growing momentum. Businesses and individuals, however, can still seize the opportunity to partner with the event and be part of the impact.

With stronger backing, amplified prizes and an ambitious fundraising target, Annual Ace 2026 is ready to once again prove that when sport and purpose meet, real change follows.
