Western Suburbs welcomed Reho Falcons back to the Namibia Rugby Premier League with a 91-9 thrashing on Saturday afternoon at Suburbs Park in Khomasdal.

Falcons were reinstated in the premier league earlier this month, after they were suspended by the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) on 20 June for failing to honour their league match against United on 15 June, due to insufficient players.

With their return to the country's elite rugby league, the bottom-of-the-log team got a thrashing of a lifetime, as Suburbs ran havoc, scoring 15 tries on the day, seven of which were converted.

The Rehoboth outfit, who were totally outclassed by their superior opponents, only managed to score three penalties.

The Suburbs' try scorers were AJ Kearns, Morgan Esterhuizen (four), Roderique Victor (three), Eliot Lombard, Ryan Garoeb, Nazume Swartz and Ricardo Swartz.

Nazume Swartz slotted four of the conversions, while Bronwyn Willemse kicked over two and Ricardo Swartz one.

Franklin Busch kicked all three of Falcons' penalties.

In another premier league match, also played on Saturday, Rehoboth defeated Kudus 49-29 in Rehoboth to remain on course to reach the semi-final playoffs.

With their landslide victory, Suburbs collected a bonus point, which improved their points from 22 to 27, but they are still fourth on the log, while Rehoboth, who were on 19 points with a match in hand, also collected a bonus point for scoring more than five tries. They are still fifth on the log, with 24 points.

Despite losing their match in Rehoboth, Kudus remain sixth on 14 points and have two matches in hand.
