New procurement board appointed

Jo-Maré Duddy – The ministry of finance has appointed the following new members to the Central Procurement Board of Namibia (CPBN): Julinda !Garu-Oas, Amon Ngavetene, Martin Kambulu, Ono-Robby Nangolo and Efaishe Nghiidipaa.!Garu-Oas is procurement expert in the private sector, Ngavetene a chief risk and compliance officer in the private sector, Kambulu is the head of procurement at Meatco, Nangolo is a legal expert at the Law Reform and Development Commission and Nghiidipaa is the procurement manager at MTC.Members’ three-year term starts on 1 March 2021 and ends on 28 February 2024. They will serve on a part-time basis.The appointment is effective from 01 March 2021 until 28 February 2024.Hilya Nandago-Herman, a legal and development finance specialist, and Epafras Pendapala Shilongo, an engineer, were reappointed from the previous board. These appointments are in addition to the fulltime chairperson and deputy chairperson, Patrick Swarts and Lischen Ramakutla, who were appointed on a five-year term, expiring in March 2022, the ministry said in a statement this morning.“We’re excited to expand our board with five new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to the work of public procurement,” finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi said.He added: “The new board performed well during the interviews and I have high hopes that under their leadership we will take the work of public procurement to greater heights.”
