Jonas to represent Namibia in SA
The winner of the Miss Africa Golden Namibia 2023 pageant, Loini Dillish Jonas, will represent the Land of the Brave at the continental competition later this year in South Africa.
The Miss Africa Golden pageant is an Afro-global competition that unites women from all backgrounds. It enables women of all races, cultures and colours to be celebrated for who they truly are and to highlight their origins and backgrounds.
“I want to promote my nation, Namibia, through this pageant because it also promotes tourism. Miss Africa Golden seeks to assist underprivileged children and fight child abuse, trafficking and slavery."
These are the words of Miss Africa Golden Namibia 2023, Loini Dillish Jonas, who will represent the Land of the Brave at the continental competition later this year in South Africa.
On winning the local pageant, Jonas said she remained true to herself and conquered her nerves through prayer and had no low self-esteem because she knew what she wanted.
Her clear articulation led to a positive impression on the judges and also proved that she’ll be able to deal with any issues that might come her way calmly and in an effective manner. All traits that earned her the crown earlier this month at the Marigold Hotel in Windhoek.
“Comfort is an enemy of success. Never underestimate yourself. Your goal should not only be to walk away with the crown, but also have goals on what you are going to do for your community, your country and beyond with that crown," she said.
"Don’t only aspire to make a living, aspire to make a difference. And most importantly, be yourself unapologetically, embrace your culture and where you come from as a young beautiful African girl and know that you, as a young girl, are powerful and the world is yours to take. There’s no limit to reaching greater heights."
The 20-year-old political science student will compete in the sixth edition of the pageant later this year in South Africa, where more than 40 beauty queens will be participating. Although details on the pageant have yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated to take place around September or October.
