NAMFISA fills three senior roles

Namibia's non-bank financial sector regulator has appointed three professionals to senior roles spanning strategy, financial technology and information systems, with two taking effect on 1 March 2026 and a third on 1 April 2026.Matheus Iiyambula joined the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) as FinTech Specialist within its Research, Policy and Statistics Division on 1 March 2026. He returns to the authority having previously held roles as a financial analyst across its Capital Markets and Pension Funds Divisions, and most recently as a data analyst in its ICT Division. Before joining NAMFISA in 2019, he worked in the Governor's Office at the Bank of Namibia, supporting risk management and compliance functions. He holds a postgraduate qualification in data science and business analytics from the University of Texas at Austin, a Bachelor of Science Honours in Accounting from the University of Namibia, and certifications in FinTech law and policy from Duke University and digital transformation from the UVA Darden School of Business and Boston Consulting Group.Josef Kasera was appointed Manager: Business Systems and Services, also effective 1 March 2026. He brings more than a decade of experience in ICT, enterprise systems management and digital transformation. He holds a Master of Information Technology in ICT Management from the University of Pretoria and a BSc Honours in Computer Science from the University of Namibia, and is certified in COBIT 2019, ITIL 4 and Business Process Management.Diana Katjiuongua joined as Head: Strategy and Projects on 1 April 2026. She previously served as Manager: Business Strategy at the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA) and, before that, as a Project Manager at Burmeister &amp; Partners Consulting Engineers and Project Managers. She began her career in 2007 as an engineering technician in the City of Windhoek's Bulk Water and Wastewater Division. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the Namibia University of Science and Technology, and is a certified Project Management Professional and Strategy Management Professional.
