NAM-CSIRT hosts cyber incident response masterclass
The Namibia Cyber Security Incident Response Team, NAM-CSIRT, hosted a One-Day Masterclass on Cyber Incident Handling, Response and Crisis Communication yesterday at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair, on the sidelines of the 9th National ICT Summit.
Held as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the masterclass brought together systems administrators, security officers, communications practitioners and government officials to strengthen Namibia's cyber resilience.
Participants took part in a practical tabletop exercise simulating real-world cyber incidents, covering preparedness, detection, response coordination and recovery.
CRAN CEO and Head of NAM-CSIRT Emilia Nghikembua says cybersecurity is no longer just a technical matter, but an organisational, economic and national security concern.
Deputy Minister of ICT Wenzel Kavaka warned that cyberattacks are becoming more sophisticated and frequent, saying every connected organisation is a potential target.
