Vendors trading at the Shoprite parking area at Werner List Mall have reportedly been prevented from selling by City Police, leaving many without income for the past three weeks. According to a committee member of Werner List Mall, Ruthi Malungu, several of the affected traders have been operating from the site for over 10 years and have no alternative place to conduct their businesses. She further stated that some vendors slept at the location last night after being unable to trade for weeks. Malungu explained that the traders had previously received confirmation to operate at the Shoprite parking area on Werner List Street. A letter dated 29 October 2025, signed by the acting manager of economic development, N. Kamho, states that approval was granted for the traders to conduct their business at the site.
