Strzelecki killers to be sentenced in December

Two men who were found guilty of the 2017 murder and attack of an elderly couple from Swakopmund appeared in the High Court in Windhoek yesterday for closing arguments before sentencing. Fabianus Lazarus and Simon Shidute will receive their sentence on 9 December. The two, and another man who has been on the run, were charged in connection with a robbery during which Swakopmund resident Roswitha Strzelecki (79) was killed in her home on 2 August 2017. Her husband, Siegfried (81), was assaulted during the robbery. He died on 10 August 2017 after suffering a stroke.
