SA delegates admire Namibian livelihoods

South African members of parliament are in Namibia on a week-long study visit to see the landscape and discuss investments and possible tourism ventures.Among the delegation are South Africa&#039;s high commissioner to Namibia Archie Whitehead and Seiso Joel Mohai. The delegation is from South Africa&#039;s National Council of Provinces - the equivalent of the National Council in Namibia.According to vice chairperson of the National Council, Victoria Kauma, Namibia hopes that after the study tour, the South African representatives will come back not on business but for pleasure."We should constantly work on keeping these meetings vibrant. We are looking forward to very fruitful engagements. I can’t think of anything more useful than a study tour at this time, and we hope that this visit will be another milestone for our friendly relationship between Namibia and South Africa.“I hope that before you leave you will have time to explore Namibia and if time doesn’t allow, next time please come as tourists for you to experience our country. And then come as investors," Kauma said.On the first day of the delegation&#039;s visit, they received a tour of the National Council and the National Assembly quarters. Over the rest of the week, National Council members will deliver presentations on the various mandates under its umbrella.The National Council also boasts the launch of the training activity specially designed for members of parliament.
