Namibia, SA to boost ties

News in short
STAFF REPORTER
Namibia and South Africa are set to strengthen their bilateral ties when they meet for the third session of the Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Windhoek next week.

This is according to an invitation released by the ministry of international relations and cooperation yesterday.

“The bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding that Namibia has signed with South Africa are the highest with any bilateral partner,” the media invitation read.

“Owing to a shared heritage, strong bonds of solidarity and neighbourhood, Namibia and South Africa enjoy warm and mutually supportive bilateral relations, as reflected by the frequency and reciprocity of high-level visits and the intensive nature of bilateral cooperation.”

The session is also expected to review cooperation in a wide range of areas including diplomatic, legal, economic, social and defence and security.

The presidential segment will be co-chaired by President Hage Geingob and president Cyril Ramaphosa.
