For that reason, professional regulation is essential.In Namibia, the profession is regulated under the Architects' and Quantity Surveyors' Act, 1979, through the Namibia Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors (NCAQS), which maintains the official register of practitioners and regulates professional conduct.The Institute of Namibian Quantity Surveyors (INQS) complements this role by representing the profession, supporting its members and promoting best practice.The distinction is important.
