Woman rapes nine-year-old son
A 37-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly raping her nine-year-old son on several occasions at Ongenga village in the Oshana Region’s Okaku constituency.
The rapes allegedly took place since the beginning of 2024.
The woman was only arrested on Monday after the boy informed one of their neighbours, who took him and his mother to the Okaku police sub-station, which led to her arrest.
Oshana police spokesperson, Inspector Frieda Shikole, said preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect - who is the boy’s biological mother - undressed him and fondled his penis before ordering him to have sex with her.
“On a separate incident, the suspect used firewood to burn the minor when he refused [to engage in] sexual activity with [her],” she said.
Shikole said the victim was burnt on his face and had more than one visible scar from wounds that had healed.
The woman is expected to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate's Court this week. Police investigations continue.
