Teen stabbed to death
A nineteen-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death at a local sheeben at Okalale village in the Omusati Region’s Tsandi constituency.
Police regional commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, said the incident was reported over the weekend.
It is alleged that the suspect asked Abed Abraham to accompany him to the back of the shebeen so they could talk.
“While there, the deceased allegedly tripped the suspect, and a fight broke out. Both the suspect and the deceased had knives, and they stabbed each other,” he said.
According to Basson, Abraham sustained stab wounds to his neck and his thigh. He died on the scene.
The suspect sustained stab wounds to his left arm and both legs. He has been arrested and is expected to appear in court this week.
Police investigations continue.
Teen raped
In a separate incident, a teenage girl was allegedly raped while walking home at Oshithashembungu village in the Onesi constituency.
Basson said the incident happened on Saturday evening.
“He grabbed the complainant, tripped her [causing her to fall] to the ground [and] strangled her until she became weak. The suspect then undressed her,” Basson said.
The suspect – whose age is unknown – then overpowered the girl and raped her.
He has not yet been arrested.
