Outjo poachers denied bail

Farmers and members of the Outjo community gathered outside the magistrate's court on Monday, holding placards to voice their opposition to bail for four alleged cattle thieves.
The accused, who are facing charges of cattle theft involving 31 cattle valued at N$372 000 from two farms near Outjo, were denied bail.
Kilian Tjikaka Masele (47), Matias Kaulikengelelwa Kataeko (34), Vevangapi Kambapa (30) and Titus Negongo (41) were arrested early on Saturday morning following a large-scale joint operation by the Namibian police, farmers, the community and the Outjo neighbourhood watch. Cattle and game theft is on the rise in the Kunene Region.
