Man charged with raping mentally-disabled woman

A man was arrested at Eenhana over the weekend for allegedly raping a mentally-disabled woman.
The incident took place last Friday at around 21:00 at the cuca shops in Otunganga village, a police report read.
It is alleged that a 37-year-old man was caught red-handed raping the 22-year-old victim by community members who came to her rescue after they heard her screaming for help.
The suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear in the Eenhana Magistrate’s Court this week.
In a separate incident, a man was arrested at the Okahenge location in the Ondobe constituency of the Ohangwena Region for allegedly stabbing another man.
The victim, Titus Handuukeme (32), succumbed to his injuries last Friday.
He was stabbed with a knife, once in his chest and once in his abdomen.
Handuukeme was unconscious when he was taken to the Eenhana District Hospital, where he later died.
The suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear in the Ohangwena Magistrate's Court this week.
