Dogs ‘feast’ on baby’s corpse
An 18-year-old woman was arrested for concealment of birth at the Uushinga village last Friday.
This after a minor discovered the woman’s newborn baby being “feasted on” by dogs, a police crime report said.
The accused was set to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court this week, while police investigations continue.
In unrelated news, on Friday, unidentified human remains wearing a brown jersey were discovered by police in Okakarara. Investigations continue.
Poaching
Less than a month after the environment ministry dehorned rhinos in the Etosha National Park to protect them against potential poachers, two white rhinos have been poached and killed.
According to the police, the suspects remain unknown while the two rhinos are valued at N$660 000.

Rape, impersonation
Last week, a case of rape was opened against a 16-year-old boy in Otjiwarongo. According to police, the accused allegedly raped a 15-year-old minor on several occasions. The victim and the accused reportedly live in the same house.
After the first rape, the accused was warned by their guardian to stop, but he didn't, police said.
On Saturday in Katutura, an unknown man impersonated a police officer. It is alleged he approached another man with a pistol and ordered him to surrender his property to the value of N$11 800. No arrests or recoveries have been made, while investigations continue.
