Ondangwa gears up for 2026 trade fair
Ondangwa is buzzing with anticipation as the town council officially announces the 2026 edition of the Ondangwa Trade & Industrial Exhibition.
Running from 24 April to 2 May, the event is set to transform the northern hub into a centre of commercial activity under the theme 'Connecting Local Trade to the World'.
As a cornerstone of the council’s local economic development strategy, the trade fair has evolved into much more than a local event.
It has evolved into a strategic platform aimed at bridging the gap between grassroots entrepreneurs and international markets, while also providing essential civic services directly to people in the region.
To launch the festivities, the council will host a fundraising gala dinner on 14 March, which will be attended by Vice President Lucia Witbooi.
The 2026 exhibition comes with high expectations following a record-breaking 12th edition in 2025.
Last year’s event successfully raised N$740 000, setting a high bar for business collaboration and community engagement.
"The annual trade fair remains one of council’s key initiatives aimed at promoting business activity and supporting enterprise development," spokesperson Petrina Shitalangaho said.
For nine days, Ondangwa will serve as a vibrant stage for SMEs and large corporations showcasing diverse products and services.
Entrepreneurs will also explore new market opportunities and foster innovation.
