My 10 Most Anticipated TV Series of 2026
I’m ready to watch a lot more TV this year, because last year I didn’t make enough time for the small screen.
I actually started putting this list together a few weeks ago, but it kept changing.
This list also includes one or two series that have already started, but I’m very curious to see how they wrap up their first seasons. The series are in no particular order. Anyway, here are my 10 most anticipated series of 2026.
Elle
My sister made us watch Legally Blonde and, honestly, I really enjoyed the movie. This prequel series explores Elle Woods’ teenage years, long before law school and her Harvard dreams. If it’s even half as good as the film, I’m completely in.
Lanterns
Another superhero series coming out this year, and this one focuses on the Green Lanterns. It’s described as a grounded comedy-drama, which makes me excited. It finally feels like DC is taking the Green Lantern mythology seriously.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
One of the series that already started a few weeks ago, and so far it’s excellent. The last episode is almost here, and it looks like it’s going to end on a high note.
Die Kantoor
Die Kantoor, South Africa’s adaptation of The Office, is already airing on kykNET and Showmax. The series completely won me over and I’m enjoying it just as much as the original.
Scrubs
Scrubs is getting new life, and I’m very excited because I rewatched the original series a few days ago. Rewatching it reminded me how good writing can turn a simple idea into an unforgettable episode.
DTF St. Louis
DTF St. Louis is a comedy series created by and starring Jason Sudeikis. The series focuses on complicated adult relationships, modern masculinity, and life in the American Midwest. I love Sudeikis in Ted Lasso, so hopefully this is just as good.
Spider-Noir
Spider-Noir is a new Spider-Man project starring Nicolas Cage. He plays Ben Reilly, a private detective who happens to have spider powers. He previously appeared in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series is set in a black-and-white-inspired version of 1930s New York and will be released in both black and white as well as colour.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair
Malcolm in the Middle is back, with Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek all reprising their roles. It’s a series I grew up with and I can’t wait to see where the family finds themselves now.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord
As a big Star Wars nerd, I had to include this.
The series is set after Star Wars: The Clone Wars and follows Maul as he rebuilds his criminal empire in the early days of the Empire. It sounds like something fresh in the Star Wars universe and I can’t wait.
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85
I know people weren’t happy with the last episode of Stranger Things, but I actually enjoyed it. That’s also why I’m excited to return to Hawkins with this series. This animated show takes place in the winter of 1985 and follows the Hawkins kids as a new supernatural threat emerges.
