JUST IN: Miss Oshakati Totem Expo to be crowned this Friday
The 2023 Miss Oshakati Totem Expo pageant, organised by Kashipu Investment CC in association with the Oshakati town council, is set to take place this Friday, 8 December, at 19:00 at the Oshakati Independence Stadium.
The finalists vying for the esteemed title are Yvonne Hamunyela, Helena Shiyanga, Naemi Paulus, Martha Namene, Ester Elia, Hildegard Abisai, Flora Mvula, Jennifer Karwapa, Wilma Mweuhanga and Betty Hashiyana.
Offering a total prize pool of N$12 000, the competition includes coveted titles such as Miss Totem Expo, First Princess, Second Princess, Miss Public Choice, Miss Personality and Miss Photogenic.
“Notably, voting for Miss Public Choice is already in progress," the organisers said, adding that the public can get involved by liking the videos featuring their preferred finalists on the Oshakati town council's Facebook and Instagram pages.
“The voting window closes on Friday at 17:00, determining the winner based on the video with the highest number of likes,” a press statement read.
This year's Totem Expo, hosted from 4 to 10 December at the Oshakati Independence Stadium, features a range of events, including the anticipated beauty pageant, all centred around the theme ‘Strengthening ties through culture'.
Following a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's 12th edition marks the expo's triumphant return. The event aims to celebrate cultural diversity while fostering unity, offering attendees a platform for cultural exchange and appreciation.
