Stars unite for Ally Tobias’ Ehangano Concert

Namibian singer Ally Tobias has announced an expanded line-up for the second edition of her Ehangano Concert, set to take place today at the National Theatre of Namibia.

Joining Tobias on stage will be Tate Buti; Dee'A; Page, Dex, One Accord, as well as newly announced performers Lioness, TopCheri and Young T.

The concert celebrates modernised traditional Oshiwambo hymns while continuing its mission of giving back to the community.

The Ehangano hymn book holds a special place within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) and among Oshiwambo-speaking communities. Through the concert, Tobias continues to reimagine these traditional hymns with contemporary arrangements, introducing them to younger audiences while preserving their spiritual significance.

The second edition of the Ehangano Concert will feature songs from Tobias' catalogue, including tracks from her latest album, 'Eimbilo', which has resonated with audiences across the country.

"The Ehangano Concert is more than just a music showcase; it's a movement that preserves our cultural heritage while creating meaningful social impact by bringing together people from all walks of life through the word of God," Tobias told tjil.

She added that she is honoured to bring the concert to the National Theatre of Namibia and to share the traditional hymns with both long-time supporters and new audiences.

Concert with heart

Beyond celebrating music and culture, the concert will once again support the Orlindi Orphanage, with proceeds going towards providing food and warm clothing for children in need.

Reflecting on last year's initiative, Tobias said the team hopes to make an even bigger impact this year.

"In 2024, we were able to make a significant contribution to the orphanage, and this year we're determined to do even more," she said.

Tobias encouraged members of the public to support the event, noting that every ticket purchased contributes to a greater cause.

"When you attend Ehangano, you're not just experiencing beautiful music, you're investing in the future of Namibian children."
