Truck accident claims two lives
Two perosn died when a Scania truck with registration number N17873WB overturned on the B2 route between Arandis and Swakopmund this morning.
According to the police report, the driver apparently fell asleep behind the wheel. "The truck left the road, overturned and landed on its roof. The driver, Martin Hamukwaya (31) and a passenger, Ismael Hamunyela (36), were trapped inside and died on the scene. Their families have been informed," said inspector Ileni Shapumba the unit commander for community affairs in the Erongo region.
The truck which belongs to RZZ Trading was travelling from Arandis towards Swakopmund with a load of charcoal.
