Brave Warriors interim coach Bobby Samaria says the team is on track to produce the goods against Madagascar tomorrow.

Brave Warriors Bobby Samaria and his charges face a mammoth task in the second leg of an African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifier against Madagascar tomorrow.

They conceded in the dying seconds of the first leg at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina in Antananarivo, Madagascar last month.

The Namibian side played poorly and were found wanting against Barea's high-pressure game. They thus lost the ball unnecessarily in critical areas.

Samaria said the players are, however, on track and eager to do better this time around.

“The boys really did well in Madagascar, but the finishing is a serious concern. We created chances but couldn't score. This week we have been focusing on finishing and scoring goals and we hope by tomorrow the boys will be well composed and not rush,” he said.

This 2020 Chan finals will be the sixth edition of the tourney. It is a biennial football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) exclusively featuring players from their respective national leagues. It will be hosted between January and February 2020 in Cameroon. Ethiopia were previously awarded hosting rights, but their football federation admitted that they could not host the competition.

Unlike the African Cup of Nations (Afcon), the competing national teams must be composed of players playing in their domestic leagues.

The Namibian players have everything to play for, with the Namibia Premier League (NPL) yet to kick off.

This is due to power tussles between league administrators and the Fifa normalisation committee that was appointed to normalise football in the country.

The aggregate winner of the two-leg tie will automatically secure a spot to play in the 2020 Chan finals.

Match tickets are selling for N$30 in advance at Football House in Katutura and at all Computicket outlets countrywide.

Patrons will be charged N$50 at the gate.
