The Zone asked a few soccer players at the Kasona trials what they predict for the 2021 sport season and how they wish the government to aid them.
Bongani Kaposambo
I believe we will adjust to this season as we are now used to the new regulations in place and now we won’t be as afraid as last year. We just need to make sure safety measures are in place at all times.
Henry Kangootui
I would like to see more sponsors come on board for the 2021 season, especially for the MTC Hopsol soccer league, as well as transport as some of us live far from training grounds.
Rivaldo Karombe
The season looks hopeful and bright. We would like to participate in more leagues as we are just used to playing casual soccer in the streets. There were few matches last year and I'm looking forward to more this year.
Uasora Pura
We need more kit this year. That will enable us to show how hungry we are to be part of this type of league which exposes us. It would be great if we look into transport as well, as we players sometimes miss training due to lack of transport.
Brendan Aib
I would like for the government to aid with more balls for the 2021 season as well as soccer kit, boots and cones for training purposes. I look forward to a patched field as well.
Vejama Kazombaue
I would like the organisations to come and join hands with us as it is evident that we have a lot of talent. We need more balls to keep the momentum going during a match. That would prevent us from waiting for a ball that goes off field.
