Swimming champs begin
Swimmers are ready to impress during the Bank Windhoek swimming competition this weekend.
The annual Bank Windhoek Namibia National Swimming Championships for 2017 are starting in Windhoek today.
The event will be held at the Olympia pool and several top swimmers are expected to participate.
A total of 136 swimmers representing seven clubs will be competing.
The Aqua Swimming and Fitness Club has entered 20 swimmers, Dolphins Swimming Club 91, Marlins Swimming Club two, Namib Swim Academy 11, and Swakopmund Swimming Club seven. A visiting club from Ostrava in the Czech Republic will field five swimmers.
The organisers believe this year's championship will offer some flavour given the determination already shown by swimmers.
The first swimming session starts today at 17:30, followed by one on Friday at 15:00.
The final sessions of the competition will take place on Saturday at 09:00.
