Suburbs defeats Wanderers
FNB Western Suburbs has signalled that it is a strong contender to win the premier league following its victory against FNB Wanderers during the weekend.
Defending champions FNB Unam became the new log leaders by beating Rehoboth 43-14 on Saturday at their pitch. The university rugby team is continuing to make great strides in its style of play and operations.
They gathered momentum by scoring six tries while their opponents could only manage one try the entire game.
FNB Wanderers conceded their top position when they suffered a 17-25 loss to FNB Western Suburbs.
This was the game of the weekend and it lived up to expectations as the two teams locked horns for a place on the national league summit.
Trustco United were the biggest winners of the weekend when they scored seven tries for two bonus points against Walvis Bay.
The bay team has been struggling to get a result and therefore the prospect of them winning the title looks dull at the moment.
The visitors will however be proud of themselves because they just lost 31-40 to a very strong club with high resilience.
Not any team will go to United and score so many points - Walvis played with heart on the day against a powerful untied team.
Reho Falcons’ miserable form continued as they suffered a 22-15 home loss against Kudus from Walvis Bay.
Falcons has been playing poorly since the season started and is now moving down the league table with a possibility of not winning the national rugby league.
The next league matches will be played in the coming weekend, with Unam entertaining FNB Wanderers, while Suburbs host a strong Kudu team.
