Stabbings dominate Erongo crime
Two male suspects have been arrested in connection with two stabbings in the Erongo Region.
The Erongo police's Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu confirmed that one person was killed and another person in a critical condition after he was stabbed repeatedly during a fight.
A murder charge is being investigated after Karlos Ngairo (19) was stabbed with a sharp object on the left side of his neck at a local bar in Otjimbingwe on Friday.
“The victim was taken to the local clinic in a critical condition and died shortly thereafter. The suspect (16) fled from the scene and was later arrested. He will appear at Karibib Magistrate's Court today. Ngairo's next-of-kin were informed and the investigation is ongoing.”
An attempted murder charge is being investigated after Leonard Rooinasie (22) was stabbed four times with an unknown sharp object on Saturday.
Rooinasie sustained serious injuries and was transported to Omaruru state hospital in a critical condition.
“The incident took place during a fight between Rooinasie and the suspect in Tandango bar at !Kres farm, about 20 km towards Tubusis in the Okombahe area. The suspect (25) fled from the scene and was later arrested. He will appear at Omaruru Magistrate's Court today. The investigation continues.”
