The Spin Fiesta was hosted this past Saturday in Otjiwarongo at the Paresis Park stadium and can only described as a spectacle of car culture and spinning.

Kasistance and Windhoek Spin City came together to make the event possible, each bringing along their specific talent niche.

Kasistance arrived in pure style and held a show and shine where some of the most pimped rides in the local market were on display.

Windhoek Spin City brought the rubber-burning sport closer to the people and put on a show that definitely won’t be soon forgotten.

“We’re really happy to see the turnout for the event. We had more than 700 people pass through the gates and it was amazing to see how many people came from the surrounding areas, from as far afield as Otavi, Omaruru, Kalkveld and Outjo to support us,” said Joel Nambahu, of Windhoek Spin City.

Local boy Werner Brand from the Otjiwarongo Motor Club, also made an impressive showing, with a sensational display in his front-wheeled VW Golf, much to the delight of his home crowd.

Pupkewitz Von Baum also joined in the fun and set-up a sort of outdoor showroom, with a beautiful variety of vehicles on display.

No prizes were up for grabs, however, as the event was more about putting on a fun-filled and exciting show for the crowd.

Spinners on the day included 13-year-old Kyle, Elby from OSD, Dupps from OSD, Most Wanted, Vankies, Wamboe Seun, Yvanne and JR.

“It was really a pleasure to attend the Otji spin fest and we’d like to thank the sponsors including Monster energy drink, Neshe Medical Practice, Motorheads cc, Radio Energy and Clutch and Break Supplies (CBS), and especially the supporters for making it so memorable,” Nambahu said.

The next stop on the rip-roaring tour will be the Crayfish Spin Fiesta in Lüderitz on 28 April.
