Shikongo wins silver in 200m at Athletics Grand Prix
Paralympic sprinter Ananias Shikongo and his guide, Even Tjiviju, won silver at the 2018 World Para Athletics Grand Prix Competition in Dubai on Tuesday.
The athlete finished the 200m T11/12 in heat two in a time of 24:05.
Head coach Michael Hamukwaya said on his Facebook account that it was not the time they were looking for but at least they managed a silver medal for Namibia.
“Now looking forward to the 100 and 400m races during the course of the week and we hope to better the time in the next races.
“Once again the Namibia National Paralympic Committee would like to thank the Namibia National Olympic Committee for these athletes in achieving their dreams,” Hamukwaya said.
The competition started on Tuesday and will run until Friday.
