Ramblers scoop three youth cups
SKW Football academy last weekend hosted the biggest ever youth football tournament on their home ground in Olympia, Windhoek.
With over 70 teams and over 1 000 enthusiastic young footballers in all age groups from under-7 to under-17, the SKW grounds were a hub of activity.
The U-7 league was won by Ramblers Cheetahs, just ahead of SKW Foxes and Swallows on a round-robin basis.
Ramblers Lions, Swallows, Swakop Sharks and SKW Mambas contested the semi-finals in the U-9 age group, and again Ramblers were victorious against the Sharks from Swakop.
Swallows took the U-11 age group against Swakop in penalties, ahead of Ramblers and Otjiwarongo.
Mario’s Football Academy made it into the semi-finals in the U-13 age group, were they lost to eventual winners Swakop.
SKW dominated the U-15 age group and deservedly won ahead of Swallows and Otjiwarongo.
Delta Schule nearly caused the biggest upset in the U-17 age group, only losing to Ramblers in the final, whilst kicking out favourites SKW on penalties.
The organisers thanked sponsors Retirement Solutions Fund, Komnik and Frank, Rent-a-drum, OK Hypersave, Interpak and Deep Catch.
