Under the theme ‘Decoding 21st Century Careers’, My Zone will be hosting the first virtual career expo in Namibia, called Career VX. The fair is slated for 12 August and will showcase about 30 different careers.
According to Tunohole Mungoba, who heads the Tertiary and Careers Hub department and My Zone, young individuals can look forward to an opportunity to engage with a number of different institutions of higher learning, careers that might spark their interest and different institutions for bursary and internship opportunities, which can all be experienced in the comfort of your home.
“You will also be granted an opportunity to engage with these sectors by asking questions if you are not sure about what career path to take,” she said.
Mungoba said they are targeting 10 universities and institutions.
She added that individuals who would like to join in on the fun and information sharing can stream the virtual career fair on www.careervx.com.
“You switch between three channels, namely careers, universities and institutions, depending on what you fancy. You can then send through any questions, which our speakers will answer.”
The event will be hosted on the same day that the Career Magazine will be published, jam-packed with multiple career options and the stories of people who are practising these careers in industry.
