Keetmans to sort out NHE houses
The Keetmanshoop Municipality will start servicing 47 plots in the Kronlein residential area next month, including 14 plots on which National Housing Enterprise (NHE) houses were built.
The owners of the NHE houses, which were left without sewerage systems because the plots were not serviced, have been demanding answers since November last year.
The 14 houses will be connected to the town's water and sewerage network, paving the way for the owners to finally occupy their homes.
The acting chief executive officer of the municipality, Hermanus Losper, said N$8,6 million of the 2013/2014 Targeted Intervention Programme for Employment and Economic Growth (Tipeeg) funds will be used to service the 47 plots.
He, however, stated that some of the funds will also be used to service plots in the Ileni informal settlement.
