Namibian MPs safe after SA attack

International Relations Permanent Secretary Selma Ashipala-Musavyi has confirmed that a Namibian delegation including Swapo deputy secretary-general and Khomas Regional Governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua, were robbed at gunpoint yesterday shortly after arriving in South Africa for the Pan-African parliamentary committee meeting that started today. According to the PS, an MP from another African country was reportedly shot at after robbers attacked them near Sandton. "One of the MPs was shot at, but all our MPs are unhurt although their belongings, including handbags, have been taken. We are monitoring the situation through our High Commission in Pretoria," she said.
