Namibia U-19 ready for first World Cup encounter
Despite having lost their two warm-up matches against England and Zimbabwe, Namibia’s under-19 cricket captain Zane Green is confident that the team will give a good account of themselves when they face Scotland in their first group stage match today.
“We had a decent warm-up and there were a lot of positives we can take out of it, even though we didn’t get the results we wanted,” the skipper said from Bangladesh’s city Chittagong where the Namibians take on the Scots.
Since then the juniors had have been training every day to be as prepared as possible.
“We had three good days of training before tomorrow so I think we are ready and positive for the game,” Green said.
Namibia will play South Africa in their second group match on January 31 in Cox’s Bazaar before they take on the hosts on February 2 at the same venue.
The game against Bangladesh will complete the team’s group games.
