The Namibian national under-18 hockey side beat Australia 4-3 on Monday in the Youth Olympic Games taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Tara Myburgh (1), Joane van Rooyen (1) and Kiana Cormack (2) scored for Namibia.

However, their first match on Sunday was not a memorable one for the nation, as the squad was trashed 8-0 by China.

The team was meant to face Mexico late afternoon yesterday and will compete against Poland today at 16:00 and then clash with Zimbabwe tomorrow at 17:00.
