NAFPU lures Trip Travel

Players under the Namibia Football Players Union (NAFPU) now have global and local travelling privileges after the union entered into a partnership with Trip Travel.

The partnership will run for the next three years, with an option to extend in 2020. The agreement between the two parties is meant to make trips for players willing to gain exposure outside the country easier on the condition that they are registered with NAFPU. Trip Travel will also assist Namibian players plying their trade abroad, and in South Africa, with travel arrangements. The company is further to assist NAFPU's employees with travel arrangements in and outside the country. Speaking on behalf of Trip Travel, Nakushe Kapofi said that the company is delighted by the agreement they signed. “We are not strangers to NAFPU because we come back as far as 2008 in assisting them. “As a leading force in the travel industry, we are very happy to officially enter into this partnership. “We are here to serve the players because we know that they need to be exposed outside the country,” Kapofi said. Kapofi further recognised the difficult economic times the country is facing and therefore deemed it important for companies to form partnerships.

NAFPU president Sylvester 'Lolo' Goraseb could not hide his excitement after the agreement was signed. “This partnership is critical for us given that it will make attending workshops and global events easier for us. “President Hage Geingob last week ordered the football family to get their house in order for the sake of football. “We would like to thank Trip Travel, TUCNA and the teachers union for supporting NAFPU.

“We further want to improve the education standards of the players in order for them to have a better future after their playing careers,” Goraseb told reporters at the signing of the partnership in Windhoek.
