Mom arrested for gruesome murder
A mother is due to appear in court today for allegedly murdering her baby daughter.

The Omusati police have arrested a 31-year-old Angolan woman for allegedly killing her five-month-old daughter by bashing her head against a concrete bench and then throwing her over a boundary wall.
She is expected to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court today.
According to the Omusati police crime report, the incident took place at Onoolongo village near Oshikuku on Wednesday at around 21:00.
It is alleged that the woman held the baby upside down by one leg while hitting her head against a concrete bench thrice, before throwing the infant over a boundary wall.
A family member informed the police, who found the baby lying on the ground.
Both the suspect and the victim were transported to the Oshikuku Roman Catholic hospital but were later transferred to the Oshakati intermediate hospital.
The victim was admitted into the intensive care unit (ICU) unit, while the suspect was taken to the psychiatric ward, due to her aggressive behaviour at the scene.
The baby succumbed to her injuries on Thursday morning.
A post-mortem will be conducted today to determine the cause of death.
The suspect was subsequently discharged from hospital and is currently detained at the Onandjaba police holding cells.
Police investigations continue.
