The Welwitschias' 20-year-old flyhalf, Cliven Loubser, is playing impressively for Namibia and wants to use the team's second test match against Uruguay to gain valuable skills and experience.

The senior national rugby team, the Welwitschias, will cross paths with Uruguay in their second test match tomorrow at the Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium in Windhoek.

The home team lost their opening match in the test series against Uruguay 36-52 last weekend. The loss, however, still came with a positive result as one of the young players from the Welwitschias camp, Cliven Loubser, was named Man of the Match among a lot of more experienced players.

This achievement has given the young flyhalf confidence moving into the second test.

Loubser says he is learning valuable lessons and the matches are important because they are teaching him valuable lessons.

“I want to gain a lot of experience and to help my team. We go into Saturday's match with the hope of making our country proud and also ourselves as players,” he said.

The flyhalf also said that last weekend they had a very tough start against Uruguay who were more organised and opened the scoring as early as the third minute.

The Namibian try scorers on the day were JC Greyling, Darryl De la Harpe, Rohan Kitshoff, AJ de Klerk, and Johann Tromp with four conversions and a penalty conversion by Loubser.

The visitors' try scorers were Sanguinetti (two), Silva (two), Nieto (two), and Carlos Arboleya, while the seven conversions and one penalty came from Favaro.

Uruguay's captain, Juan Manuel Gaminara, said they had a great match and they will still bring their A-game when the two teams clash again at the Hage Geingob Stadium tomorrow.

According to the latest world rankings, Uruguay are ranked 19th and Namibia 21st in the world and because of this standings the home side need to pull up their socks and show the more organised and experienced visitors that they too can pull off a win with a young team which they are fielding as the senior players are out on injury.

The series is being used by the two teams as preparation for the 2019 World Cup qualifiers to be played next year.

The match starts at 16:00. Entrance fee is N$50 for adult, students pay N$10. Tickets are available at www.webtickets.com.na, Pick n Pay stores and at the gates.
