Swapo's Ndiyona constituency councillor, Eugene Likuwa, will have to wait until next year for the Ndiyona Periodic Court to hear the full story and reach a verdict regarding his alleged wife-beating case.
Magistrate Sonia Samupofu last week remanded the matter to 11 February 2021 after Likuwa's lawyer, Beatrix Bianca Boois of BB Boois Attorneys, could not be present to represent her client.
The matter was on the roll for continuation of the trial.
Likuwa stands accused of assaulting and threatening to kill his wife on 25 December 2019 at Arevesheneka village in the Kavango East Region, where the couple fought in full view of partygoers at a local shebeen.
Variety Matamata is the prosecutor.
During a pervious court appearance, three key State witnesses failed to show up and warrants of arrest were issued.
The warrants have since been cancelled after the witnesses, who will be testifying when the matter resumes, were tracked down.
