Karibib residents are eagerly anticipating the start of the third ever Karibib Travel and Tourism Fair (KTTF), scheduled to kick off tomorrow.
The fair runs between 25 May and 28 May 2016 (Saturday), and is aimed at stimulating economic activity in the Erongo Region town, with an estimated population of 15 000.
In promoting the upcoming event, the Karibib Town Council said Karibib was strategically located alongside the main B2 road, linking investors and travellers to the Port of Walvis Bay and to northern parts of the
country. Over 100 exhibitors are expected to showcase their products and services at this year’s event, ranging from major corporates to small and medium entrprises (SMEs). The event was officially launched earlier this year in March, followed by a fundraising dinner in April, where more than N$240 000 was raised through seat sales and pledges. A major highlight of the event is the hosting of a business seminar on its side lines, while younger visitors can look forward to the hosting of ‘Miss KTTF’, a beauty pageant to search and crown “the most beautiful lady in the town”.
Also scheduled for Saturday night is a music bash to be closed off by Namibian Kwaito sensation Lazarus Shimii, stage name Gazza.
Other artists scheduled to perform include Promise, and Karibib’s own Midwest, Putalsky, Tukuros and Skelm & Bones. Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises Engel Nawatiseb has been named Patron of this year’s KTTF, with Erongo Regional Council Chief Regional Officer Nathalia
/Goagoses, named Deputy Patron.
