Jacobs ready to work hard
Newly appointed Okahandja United FC coach Woody Jacobs says his task is to help the club avoid relegation during the 2018/19 premier league season.
The club introduced Jacobs as their new coach last week following their promotion to topflight football.
“It is a great honour for me to take over as the coach of this club and I am delighted to have made this decision.
“I believe that the most important thing in a team's first season is to work hard in order to avoid relegation. It will not be an easy task given that all teams will be fighting to remain in the league, but it is an exciting challenge I am grabbing with both hands,” Jacobs said.
Jacobs announced his resignation from Tigers on Sunday, despite having another year to go on his contract with the club. His resignation came in the wake of speculation that he was unhappy with the way the Tigers management had treated him. Jacobs did not give any reasons why he was parting ways with the club that he had joined in the middle of the 2017/18 season. The coach comes with a wealth of experience, having mentored Orlando Pirates, Tigers, African Stars and Black Africa in the past.
