This coming Saturday will be a night to remember, with the annual MTC/NSC Sports Awards taking place in the seaside town of Swakopmund.

The MTC/Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) Namibia Sports Awards will take place at The Dome in Swakopmund this coming Saturday.

The night will bring together the country’s biggest sports stars, who will receive recognition for their achievements throughout the year and walk away with large sums of money - should they triumph in their categories.

There are 14 categories, besides the People Sports Star of the Year award.

The nominees are as follows:

Sportsman of the Year

- Likius Nande - golf

- Jonas Junius - amateur boxing

- Tristan de Lange - cycling

Sportswoman of the Year

- Natascha Rottcher - water ski

- Magreth Mengo - indoor hockey

- Helalia Johannes - athletics

Sportsman of the Year with Disability

- Ananias Shikongo - athletics

- Johannes Nambala - athletics

Sportswoman of the Year with Disability

- Sylvia Shivolo - shot put and discus

- Lahja Ishitile - athletics

- Johanna Benson - athletics

Junior Sportsman of the Year

- Lance Potgieter - gymnastics

- Alexander Miller - cycling

- Adriaan Grobler - archery

Junior Sportswoman of the Year

Sports Team of the Year

- Senior women's indoor hockey team
