Half-naked body found at Aussenkehr
The half-naked body of a 32-year-old woman was discovered on Sunday at Aussenkehr.
According to the police, the body of Patrisia Vihemba Madyumo was found at Block 5 on Aussenkehr farm.
She was found without a skirt or underwear and was only wearing a T-shirt and a jersey.
It is alleged that Madyumo was hit on the head with an unknown object and raped. No arrests have been made.
In a separate incident at Sesfontein in the Kunene Region a nine-year-old girl was raped by a 17-year-old teenager on Sunday.
According to the police the incident happened at the Khowarib Quarantine Camp at about 07:00 and the suspect was arrested.
In another incident a 22-year-old man was murdered in Otjomuise on Sunday.
According to the police a group of seven patrons were heading home in Otjomuise 3 after they had a quarrel at a bar with some other revellers. As they were heading home a bakkie started chasing them and rammed into Thembaletu McDonald Ei-Gowab.
The vehicle stopped and the driver attacked and stabbed Ei-Gowab to death with an unknown object.
The suspect fled the scene, but it had an accident a few metres away.
A 22-year-old suspect was arrested.
At Kuisebmond a 22-year-old man was shot in his backside after being accused of breaking into a car and stealing items from it. According to the police the victim, together and a friend, were on their way home when the 40-year-old suspect approached them and demanded his items back.
However, they did not have these items, as they not break into his vehicle.
The suspect allegedly took out his pistol and the victim and his friend started running. The suspect then shot at them. The victim was shot in his backside and admitted to the Walvis Bay State Hospital in stable condition. The suspect was arrested and his licensed firearm was confiscated. It was later established that the suspect's car was never broken into, as he had alleged.
Meanwhile, German tourists were robbed of items worth
N$81 000 on the gravel road between Mariental and Gochas on Saturday.
According to the police a silver VW Polo with five male occupants blocked an oncoming vehicle driven by the German tourists.
The Polo had tinted windows and the registration number is unknown.
The suspects held the victims at knifepoint and robbed them. The German nationals are aged 53 and 60 and no arrests have been made.
In another incident at the Kalahari Red Dune Lodge in the Kalkrand area three suspects broke into the room of two Swiss tourists.
The suspects subdued the couple and ransacked the room. They fled the scene with a wallet containing N$4 000, 200 Swiss francs, 200 euro, ATM cards, passports, jewellery and other electronic items. After the case was reported to the police, tracks were followed that led to the recovery of the wallet containing the ATM cards, an iPhone and a bag of clothes. The suspects are still at large.
In Rundu, a 13-year-old girl is recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest at the Rundu State Hospital after she was struck by a bullet fired by an unidentified man at the Tuhingireni informal settlement in the early hours of Sunday.
Police crime investigations coordinator Deputy Commissioner Bonifasius Kanyetu confirmed the incident saying the victim was sleeping with two other children when the bullet hit her.
The girl, identified as Mestilde Nyama Mbambi, is in a critical but stable condition.
Kanyetu said the firearm used in the incident is still unknown.
The suspect is still at large.
