STAFF REPORTER
The board of directors of the Government Institutions Pension Fund on Friday announced the extension of the contract of its CEO, David Nuyoma.
Nuyoma’s contract as GIPF CEO is extended for another five-year term.
Nuyoma initially joined the GIPF from the Development Bank of Namibia, where he also served as CEO, on 1 January 2013. The contract extension becomes effective 1 January 2018.
Under Nuyoma’s leadership, the GIPF’s total funds under management grew from N$58 billion in 2013 to the current N$106 billion.
Furthermore, the GIPF has managed to maintain adequate solvency levels, provide optimal member benefits, enhance corporate governance and service delivery and cultivate a high performance culture during his five-year tenure.
GIPF board chairman Gomes Menettè said that the Fund had managed to grow under Nuyoma’s leadership.
“We are delighted to have reappointed Mr Nuyoma to continue leading the GIPF as CEO and principal officer. Under his leadership, the assets of the GIPF almost doubled the image of the GIPF including service delivery improved and, most importantly, he fostered a high performance culture amongst employees,” said Menettè.
