Geingob saddened by horror crash
President Hage Geingob has expressed his grief over 13 people who lost their lives in a terrible car crash outside Otavi on Sunday afternoon. While extending his condolences to the families and loved ones of the crash victims, Geingob appealed to motorists to drive carefully and adhere to traffic laws. “For the law to takes its course and in honour of victims of yet another needless accident, a proper investigation should be speedily carried out,” said Geingob. “Our roads have become unwarranted killing fields, and I appeal to law-enforcement agencies to patrol our roads and enforce speed limits. Drivers carrying passengers must drive safely, respect rules, and adhere to speed limits in order to avoid fatalities. Innocent passengers should not lose their lives due to negligent drivers.” An Iveco bus travelling from north and another travelling from south collided. Both vehicles caught fire and most of the victims burnt beyond recognition.
