Four dead in Ondangwa crash
Four people died yesterday morning when a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota bakkie belonging to the Northern Regions Electricity Distribution Company (Nored) collided head-on at Okapya village along the Ongwediva–Ondangwa main road.
According to the Oshana Region police the incident happened at around 10:00.
Four occupants of the Corolla, aged between four and 35, were declared dead at the scene, while four others were transported to different hospitals.
The two survivors from the Corolla are said to be in a critical condition while the two in the bakkie escaped with minor injuries.
Details of the cause of the accident remain sketchy. Witnesses told Namibian Sun that the accident was caused by another road user who sped off after the accident, but the police could not confirm that.
Police investigations continue.
