Breweries support road safety
Namibia Breweries Limited last week reaffirmed its commitment and support towards keeping Namibian national roads safe and accident-free through a sponsorship worth more than N$200 000. The donation included soft drinks and water, equipment such as breathalysers and reflector jackets for police officers manning roadblocks during the festive season, and a monetary donation towards the West Coast Safety Initiative.
Speaking at the handover, Namibia Breweries managing director Wessie van der Westhuizen thanked the officials who will be working over the festive season for their commitment.
“I wish to commend the emergency service personnel and the police who will spend their festive season safeguarding and instilling discipline on our roads. We appreciate you all for the sacrifices you make to pull your weight in ensuring safer roads. I wish the road-safety campaign and all its players a successful journey during this festive season, and call on each and every one of us to make this a safe, accident-free and joyous festive season,” Van der Westhuizen said.
